DR. SAM SALEH, DDS., BDS
Dr. Sam Saleh, lauded cosmetics dental expert and transplant to Los Angeles, is quite at home at his practice's Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive address. Saleh's English accent, bespoke shoes, and tailored suits are befitting a young, talented professional who Tyra Banks calls her favorite dentist. And his beside manor having treated celebrities and royalty combined with a European mentality and artistic aesthetic make him the go to guru for his signature, "natural smile." Saleh's tireless research and meticulous attention to patient needs allowed him to be one of the first to create the dentistry spa concept – a modern, loungy environment where pampering the patient is the goal. A full service cosmetic dental practice is augmented with tranquil spa menu selections such as aromatherapy, waxing, grooming, massage and hypnotherapy.
Having visited Los Angeles many times as a child, Saleh moved to the states, after completing his training and an apprenticeship with a top London dental practice. It is there where he became acquainted with British aristocracy and would utilize those skills in dealing with the Hollywood elite. Saleh was educated at the prestigious Kings College of London, with postgraduate work in Implantology, and a residency on London's famed Wimpole Street. Dr Saleh passed the California Bench Exam at USC in the top five percentile. During his nine years in the field, he gained an acute eye for cosmetic dentistry. Pursuing his specialized interest, he continued his education by acquiring a number of certifications and credentials in this field.
Saleh does not subscribe to "plastic fantastic" philosophy and his patients do not dictate treatment, rather he accesses and appraises the need and then communicates the appropriate plan of action for the best look possible. "It's not always about the whitest teeth or the Jessica Simpson smile, say Saleh.
While those celebrities look beautiful on the red carpet, Saleh knows what his patients need the moment he meets them, it's a talent that one cannot necessarily acquire just from credentials or experience. Bone structure, facial shape, jaw, lips, even hair color all come into play. He may not always design the smile that a patient walks in with from a magazine editorial. "A blindingly white, big-toothed smile can be too overpowering for a softer face or on an older patient, my diagnostic opinion is a compromise both my patient and I can live with," says Saleh. They will, however walk out of his Dentistry Spa a very happy patient. Many of those happy patients include Tyra Banks, Esai Morales, Donald Faison (Scrubs), VIPs, princesses and princes, and more. Saleh has appeared on several hit shows. But his appearances on the Tyra Banks Show that has allowed him to perform life-changing makeovers is his favorite time spent in front of the camera.
Saleh's concern with aesthetics did not stop in the dental chair; his office was designed in collaboration with Architect Christopher Grubb to create serenity, calmness, and luxury to reflect somewhat of a rooftop atelier that has been featured in many shelter magazines such as Contract.
While he has no formal training in art, he paints and sketches in his leisure time. In fact, he'll draw the teeth and forward the mandate to his in-house ceramist. Dr. Sam Saleh also contributes time and resources to The Carousel of Hope and The Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. |
